We are KB Financial Group, creating a world where we dream together, hope together, and live together.
We, KB Financial Group, are conducting various social contribution programs in the areas of jobs, community, and environment to build a welcoming society that people live together.
We are creating social value by addressing social needs and growing together with local communities to build a sustainable society.
KB Financial Group runs the 'KB Good Job' program to address youth unemployment and create quality jobs. Since its establishment in 2011, the program has offered various employment information on job postings, resume development, interview preparation, etc. through the KB Good Job website, and the KB Good Job Job Fair, a venue for job seekers and outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises, is held annually. We also provide customized job training programs such as the KB Job Academy and KB Job School.
The KB Job Fair is the country's largest single-scale job fair, with more than 4,900 employers participating and more than 1 million job seekers visiting until the end of 2022.
KB Financial Group has expanded the number of job fairs to five per year in collaboration with the government and job-related organizations since 2018. In the second half of 2022, when COVID-19 was slightly eased, the KB Job Fair was held both online and offline, resulting in 25,301 job connections as of the end of 2022. KB Financial Group runs the 'KB Good Job Interest Rate Preferential Program' and 'KB Good Job Recruitment Support Grant' for employers who attended the KB Good Job Job Fair. The 'KB Good Job Interest Rate Preferential Program' is a program that allows employers who participated in the KB Good Job Job Fair to apply for new loans from KB Bank and provides preferential interest rates, and we provided approximately KRW 946 billion in support at the end of 2022. In addition, KB Financial Group offers the "KB Good Job Recruitment Subsidy" program to help small and medium-sized enterprises lower their financial burden and secure employment stability. The "KB Good Job Recruitment Subsidy" program is a program that provides recruitment subsidies to companies that hire regular employees through the KB Good Job Job Fair, and has provided approximately KRW 7.6 billion to 10,851 employees from 2,284 companies as of the end of 2022.
We also provide customized employment training programs for students at technical vocational high schools, university students, and former (planned) military personnel to strengthen the employment capabilities of young job seekers and improve the employment rate. The employment training program consists of the 'KB Good Job Employment Academy,' which is linked to the KB Good Job Job Fair, and the 'KB Good Job Employment School,' which supports job camps, job consulting, and job matching for six months for technical vocational high school students.
KB Financial Group implements various activities to spread awareness of the conservation of nature and protect biodiversity.
We are leading the way in biodiversity conservation through the 'K-Bee Project' and 'KB Sea Forest Project'.
<K-Bee Project>
In May 2022, KB Financial Group launched the K-Bee Project to preserve the bee population as global awareness of the importance of biodiversity is spreading. Bees are important insects that affect the pollination of 70% of the top 100 edible crops, but their population has been declining rapidly due to recent environmental challenges, leading to colony collapse. Therefore, KB Financial Group established an urban apiary on the roof of KB Bank's main building and installed a Bee Hotel for wild bees in the Seoul Botanical Garden.
We are also building a palace forest of wheat trees around Changgyeong Palace, and in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, and are planting and nurturing 100,000 milwonsu with different flowering times, including lily trees, hackberry trees, and acacia trees. Milwonsu is a tree that provides food to bees, and KB Financial Group is taking the lead in recovering the ecosystem of bees through the creation of milwonsu forests. In May 2023, we held a bee experience event at the Seoul Forest City apiary and bee garden to celebrate World Bee Day. In particular, children from a nursery school in KB gu-eui and athletes Cha Jun-hwan and Lee Hae-in, who are sponsored by KB Financial Group, participated in bee ecology education and bee gardening activities together, attracting attention to the 'K-Bee Project'.
<KB Sea Forest Project>
KB Financial Group is implementing the 'KB Sea Forest Project' to secure biodiversity and preserve the ocean environment. The 'KB Sea Forest Project' is a program that builds sea grass forests and conducts underwater and coastal cleanup activities, such as collecting marine waste, in areas where sea desertification is in progress. Sea grass is a type of seaweed that absorbs carbon, blocks water pollution sources, and offers spawning grounds and habitats for marine life, but its area is shrinking every year due to climate change, marine environmental pollution, and overfishing. To address this, KB has introduced the 'KB Net Zero S.T.A.R. Public Benefit Trust' and promoted the 'KB Net Zero S.T.A.R. Blue Carbon Sea Forest Creation' project with donations. In 2022, the bank established a zoophyte forest by transplanting zoophyte adults collected off the coast of Namhae-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, and is monitoring it quarterly. Furthermore, KB performs coastal cleanup activities to preserve the habitat of marine life. To celebrate the Environment Day, we held an eco-friendly exhibition called 'Green Month, Green Floor' and collected donations according to the number of visitors to collect trash in Busan. At gwang-anli Beach in Busan, customers, employees, and family members of KB participated in plogging to collect trash and clean up the nearby environment. In 2023, we entered into a business agreement with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to smoothly manage and expand the 'KB Sea Forest Project'. KB Financial Group will strive to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity by actively engaging in initiatives for building a sustainable marine ecosystem.
KB Financial Group has organized a customer participation social contribution process that engages customers in disaster relief activities in a timely manner in case of socially relevant disasters such as natural disasters. The customer participation social contribution process is managed through major digital platforms of each affiliate of KB Financial Group, and the participation channel is set up within three business days of the decision to operate, taking into account the timely nature of emergency disasters. Donations are categorized into direct donations through KB's Star Banking, Internet Banking, etc. and participatory donations by clicking a participation button, and KB Financial Group operates a 'Matching Grant' system in which the same amount of money donated by customers is donated by KB Financial Group. In 2022, we donated money for the recovery from wildfires on the east coast, severe rains in the Seoul metropolitan area, and Typhoon Hinnamno, and supplied disaster relief kits to the relief sites, as well as meal delivery vehicles and laundry vehicles. Additionally, KB Financial Group carries out projects such as housing and livelihood support for the underprivileged who need help. Employees practice sharing by engaging in various social contribution activities run by each affiliate.
KB Financial Group is extending its social contribution activities globally to develop local communities and expand win-win values, especially in Indonesia and Cambodia, where many of its affiliates are located. KB Financial Group is planning to continue to promote various social contribution activities in major countries to create win-win partnerships with local communities.
